A massive milestone for Gold Coast-filmed blockbuster 'Aquaman' which has officially made more than $1 billion at the global box office.
It became just the third DC Comics adaptation to crack the ten-figure mark, joining The Dark Knight and The Dark Night Rises.
While it is also the most successful entry into the DC Extended Universe.
It made $300 million in China alone, with most of its earnings coming from outside of the United States of America.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk welcomed the news and hoped the success would attract more major international productions to the Gold Coast.
