Storms On The Way As Cyclone Owen Reforms Off NQ
Gold Coast To Be Hit On Friday
Some wild weather is set to hit the Gold Coast as Tropical Cyclone Owen collides with a low in South-East.
The cyclone reformed off Far North Queensland on Tuesday night and was tipped to become a Category Three storm by the time it reaches the coastline tomorrow.
Aditi Sharon from the Bureau Of Meteorology said the Gold Coast can expect to feel the effects from Friday, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast across the weekend.
"Falls of up to 50 to 45 millimetres are expected on Friday," said Sharon.
"So over the weekend we could expect good falls in a short period of time."
