Special WA Police Vans Now Able To Scan For Drugs

Police officers will now have access to new technology which will assist in fighting the war on drugs, with special vans fitted with equipment to x-ray vehicles on the roads.

There will be three new vans available for WA Police officers, with the technology giving police the ability to intercept key drug transportation areas.

The vans, called Tru Narcs, have a laser scanning system which means that drugs can be detected in plastic and even if concealed by glass.

This comes after $104.1 million in government funding for the Meth Border force.
