Terrifying!

Scream is heading back to our screens, this time as a TV miniseries!

The horror franchise famously kicked off in 1996 as a teen slasher film starring Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox. It was followed by three more films starring Neve and Courteney, and then an MTV TV series starring Willa Fitzgerald.

And now a new six-episode TV series is set to hit screens in the US in July, and it will use the original Ghostface killer mask!

The TV show actually didn’t use the iconic mask, instead it used a reimagined mask for the killer to hide behind. This was rumoured to be due to legal reasons, but the creators of the TV show said it was really just to separate the series from the movies.

Well none of that matters now because the Ghostface mask is back, along with Roger Jackson who was the voice of the killer in all four Scream movies.

Scream: Resurrection will air over three nights in the US, and will star Mary J. Blige, RJ Cyler, Keke Palmer, Tyler Posey, C.J. Wallace, Tyga and Giullian Yao Gioiello

There’s also an appearance from Paris Jackson… and we know nothing about the storyline of this show, but judging by every previous Scream incarnation starting with a famous person dying in the first scene, surely she’s going to get stabbed in the series opener?

No Australian release date has been announced but we’ll keep you posted.
