Saving our reef one beer at a time

Why didn't we think of this?

Social enterprise company The Good Beer Co are getting behind our precious reef and keeping us hydrated at the same time.

The man behind the idea is James Grugeon whose partnered with the independent Queensland craft brewery Ballistic Beer Company in Brisbane to bring us the Great Barrier Beer.

Ten percent of the price of every keg or carton sold will go towards the Australian Marine Conservation Society to support their work on the reef from the threats of climate change and pollution.

More than 150 BWS and Dan Murphy stores now stock the beer throughout Australia, with the lager now being rolled out in Far North Queensland at some of our own hospitality and retail businesses- but they would love to see more join the campaign.

Great Barrier Beer and the Good Beer Co are working towards becoming the first carbon neutral beer and beer company in Australia in 2019 and are already using biodegradable six pack holders.

It’s also made it onto the top 100 list for the hottest new Aussie craft beer coming in at number 54. While they also brew Pale Tails to raise money for RSPCA Queensland which also made the list.

Now this is an environmentally friendly cause we can get involved with.
