The Civil Aviation Safety Authority are heading to the region this week, holding a safety seminar for local pilots in Mount Gambier and Naracoorte next week.
Officials will be discussing defensive flying to make our skies even safer.
It’s being held at the Mount Gambier Aero Club, with CASA’s Peter Gibson saying local pilots will be given practical examples of how to fly defensively to best manage threats and errors.
Threats to safe flying include adverse weather, mechanical problems or other air traffic; while errors by pilots can include the mis-management of fuel, incorrect aircraft settings or navigational mistakes.
The Mount Gambier seminar will be on 23 November 2018 at Mount Gambier Aero Club.
The seminar will head to Naracoorte on the 27th of November.
