Despite a lower than average participant rate, Relay For Life Goldfields organisers are looking forward to a fun-filled event this weekend.
31 teams, made up of about 340 people, have registered to take part in the relay which will be held at the Ray Finlayson Sporting Complex on Saturday and Sunday. Down from about 40 teams in previous years.
With the fundraising goal being $120,000, just over $70,000 has already been raised so far and organisers are hopeful the goal will be met before the weekend is over with plenty of activities ready to go.
Anybody who wishes to donate is urged to do so. It is a free event and there are lots of raffles and active fundraising initiatives happening over the weekend.
The event will kick off at 10AM on Saturday and again on Sunday.
