A journalist at the BBC has formally been found in breach of guidelines to get an interview with the late Princess Diana.

An investigation has concluded Martin Bashir is guilty of deceitful behaviour - presenting fake documents to get the 1995 tell-all Panorama interview.

The broadcaster has apologised and sent private letters to the royal family. This morning, Prince William has blamed the BBC journalist for his parents divorce.

In a statement, Prince William said, “The interview was a major contribution to making my parents’ relationship worse and has since hurt countless others. It brings indescribable sadness to know that the BBC’s failures contributed significantly to her fear, paranoia and isolation that I remember from those final years with her.”

Prince Harry also shared a statement on the matter.

“The ripple effect of a culture of exploitation and unethical practices ultimately took her life.”
