Police vehicle rammed in early morning incident

Wagga police are searching for the occupants of a stolen Volkswagon Amarok that rammed a police car in Glenfield Park yesterday.

Officers say shortly before 5am they attempted to speak to the driver of the vehicle, which was parked in a restaurant car park on Fernleigh Road.

As a Senior Constable approached the car, it sped off, ramming the police vehicle and causing significant damage.

The car was later found abandoned in Ashmont, however despite an extensive search, its occupants were not found.
