Police are reaching out to the public for assistance with their investigation into a hit and run incident that occurred on Saturday evening in Sumner. 

On October 16, police were called to hooning activity on Spine Street at around 11:30PM.

On their arrival, police found the hoons had fled the scene and a pedestrian had been struck by a car while crossing the street.

The 17-year-old victim had suffered severe injuries during the crash and the driver was allegedly nowhere to be seen.

The police have described the vehicle involved as a white Holden Commodore VE utility with damage to the left side of the vehicle and no registration.

The driver has been described as a bald Caucasian male with tattoos across the left side of his face.

The Forensic Crash Unit are currently investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with dash cam footage, CCTV footage or information pertaining to the incident to contact police via Policelink or to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
