Police investigate a spate of robberies and a brawl after a busy weekend

Nine break and enter offences across Wagga, and a brawl at the Cootamundra Ex-Servicemen's Club made for a busy weekend for Riverina police.

The brawl on Saturday night lasted just 10 minutes, no-one was taken to hospital, but questions have been raised after reports it took police more than 20 minutes to respond.

Meantime, officers are also investigating a spate of break-and-enters, including a service station in Tolland targeted by thieves armed with a knife and a hammer.

There was also a smash and grab at Casshies on Edward Street, it's third break-in in just 18 months.
