Police have charged a boy following the alleged trashing of a Cairns sporting club.

Investigations are ongoing.

A 13-year-old Edmonton boy was charged yesterday as part of investigations into the unlawful entry and damage of a local combined sporting club premises.

 

Police will allege offenders forced entry to two separate buildings at the Walker Road sporting precinct last Saturday night, stealing food and drinks and damaging property and fittings.

 

Officers from the Cairns Property Crime Squad attended an Edmonton address at around 8.30am yesterday and a boy was taken into custody.

 

He was subsequently charged with two counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence and one count each of entering premises with intent and wilful damage.

 

Investigations into the incidents are continuing.
