The search is on for Australia's 2018 Poetry Slam champion! Nagambie Library is excited to be hosting one of six Poetry Slam heats being held around Victoria. The Library will come alive with poets of all ages on Thursday 5th July.

Speak, scream, howl, whisper or even sing your poems, stories, lyrics or monologues in the electric live event. Come along as part of the audience and you could become a judge! Two finalists from each slam heat will compete in the Victorian state final, and the winner and runner-up from each state will compete at the national final at the Sydney Opera House in October.

Entry to Poetry Slam is free.

Registrations are at 6.30pm with the heat getting underway at 7pm.

MC for the evening will be Joel McKerrow, an award-winning writer, speaker and one of Australia's most successful internationally touring performance poets.

Contact the Library on 1300 374 765 or visit Goulburn Valley Libraries website www.qvlibraries.com.au for more information.

Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy what is sure to be an entertaining evening of poetry.
