A new study has claimed that people with certain names are more likely to win the lotto, with online lotto platform Jackpot.com having collected data since it began in 1995 to find patterns in those who won, according to online site, Joe. 

They found that Derek was the name most likely to win the jackpot!

Here’s the list of the top five names most likely to win:

1. Derek (four wins)

2. David/Dave (also four wins)

3. Alex (three wins) 

4. John (three wins)

5. Karen (three wins)

They also found that those with these professions won more often:

• Builders
• Carpenters
• Mechanics
