Social media platform Snapchat has been criticised today following the release of a 'disrespectful' filter to coincide with ANZAC Day.

Users were able to access a filter which had a banner saying 'Happy ANZAC Day', with sentiments of disappointment and disgust being echoed over the use of the word 'happy'.

Some users also complained about the fact that New Zealand was completely excluded from the 'commemorative' features.
