There's no doubt we look up to some of our favourite singers and icons in our lives as role models. But, have you ever stopped and wondered who they look up to?

On International Women's Day 2019, we're checking out some of the heroes of our heroes.

Beyonce

Queen B has made no secret her Mum Tina is her role model revealing, “My biggest hero is and always will be my mother. She has taught me about caring for others, working hard, and working smart. Everything I know about being a mother comes from the examples she has shown. My mother has instilled confidence in my sister and me and taught us to always be grateful.”

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga's Dad is her knight in shining armour, so much so that Mother Monster gives her Papa 50% of her earnings! Gaga revealed to Vanity Fair magazine shortly after Father's Day, '"I’m happier than I’ve ever been. I’ve been in my father’s arms for two weeks, wishing [him] a Happy Father’s Day."

P!nk

We were all close to tears (or drowning in them if you're us) after P!nk's speech to her daughter Willow at the 2017 MTV VMAs. While she's a hero to us, P!nk shared a story about a particular car ride with her daughter when accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Miley Cyrus

While Miley Cyrus has transformed from innocent Hannah Montana to wrecking ball Miley and now into older/wiser Miley right in front of our very eyes, the singer has revealed her hero is her godmother Dolly Parton. When talking about the singer and the impact she has had on her life, Miley revealed to Entertainment Weekly, "(she) doesn't really let me call her my godmother, she likes 'fairy godmother' much better. She teaches people not to judge a book by its cover, or its huge boobs and its big hair."
