A fire along Airport Drive has threatened operations at Roma's airport.

Emergency Services received the call out around 2:50PM yesterday afternoon to respond to a fire along Airport Drive.

Two fire crews responded to the grass fire.  They used high pressure hoses to extinguish the fire taking them around half an hour to put it out.

The fire crew worked hard to ensure the fire didn’t affect any of the equipment or buildings at the airport – the airport was handed back to staff around 4:15PM.

Investigations were underway yesterday afternoon to determine the cause with the Maranoa Regional Council extending thanks out to the fire crews for their efforts to put out the fire.
