It was also confirmed a change to the NRL's policy in dealing with players facing serious offences.

The change will give the NRL the power to place a player facing serious criminal charges on a no-fault stand-down until the finalisation of any court proceedings.

A serious offence with a possible penalty of 11 years or above (imprisonment) will see the player immediately stood down.

According to ARLC Chairman Peter Beattie players who are stood down will still receive full pay and be allowed to train with their team.

The club will receive no automatic salary cap relief but club must apply to the salary cap auditor for said relief.
