A man who abducted a nurse at knife point outside Pindara Private Hospital has been sentenced to five years behind bars.

Nicholas Dines pleaded guilty to forcing Joe Brooker into the boot of his own car in December last year while the nurse was on his break.

The 18-year-old then drove the car to an ATM in Ashmore where he forced the 25-year-old to withdraw money.

He then put him back into the boot of the car and released the handbrake, letting it roll backwards down a hill and into a fence.

Mr Dines was sentenced to five year's jail in Southport Magistraes Court on Friday, and will be eligible for parole as early as June 1, 2019.

Two other boys have already faced court over the incident, aged 16 and 17, while another 18-year-old was charged back in March.
