A wet weekend is being predicted for North Queensland, as we keep a close eye on Cyclone Owen.
As a result of the expected rain, flooding is also on the cards and the Bureau of Meteorology are giving us fair warning, with a Flood Watch active now.
Heavy rainfall associated with Tropical Cyclone Owen is expected across the Cape York Peninsula and Gulf coast for at least the next 24 to 48 hours, extending to the North Tropical Coast from Friday evening and through the weekend as the cyclone tracks southeast.
If you're travelling this weekend, don't get caught out at these North/Far North Queensland rivers.
Catchments likely to be affected include:
Lower Flinders River
Coleman and Edward Rivers
Mulgrave and Russell Rivers
Ross and Bohle Rivers
This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and creeks should monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings.
Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.
