New Road To Stockland Glendale Set To Open On Friday

It's been a long time coming, but drivers should finally be able to use the first stage of the Glendale Transport Interchange this Friday.

The new stretch of road will allow drivers to access Stockland Glendale directly from Main Road and Glendale Drive.

The RMS is currently doing a final audit, and if all goes to plan the road will open to traffic later this week.

The road was originally meant to open in September last year, however a complex network of gas, electricity and phone lines running underneath Main Road caused some major headaches.

"The biggest time delays have certainly been around service relocations. One of the service authorities alone added over 120 days to the project just because of their requirements," said Lake Macquarie Council's Tony Farrell.

The new access road to Stockland Glendale is expected to ease traffic congestion in the area.
