The City of Mount Gambier has fully endorsed 17 members for the Mount Gambier Regional Sport and Recreation Centre Community Reference Group (CRG).
The locals met for the first time this week, revealing plans for the proposed facility.
Council are planning on sinking $10 million into the Centre; with plans to apply for $20 million in federal funding, and another $10 million of State Government support.
The group of 17 represent local schools, swim clubs, allied health care providers, & community youth groups.
The next step in the process is the invitation for Stage 2 funding applications, and then the presentation of design & costs for funding submission.
The proposed plans for the layout of the facility has been released on Council's website, featuring multiple pools, indoor courts and spectator seating.
