Gippsland V/Line commuters are to expect more delays in the new year.

The Victorian government confirmed yesterday that buses will replace trains for the entire journey between Wednesday 2nd and Sunday 13th January to allow for works in preparation for the new high capacity metro trains.

Coaches will continue to operate in the shutdown period, with options for express, semi-express and services that will be stopping all stations. Passengers will be asked to allow for an additional 90 minutes travel time.

Commuters traveling on the Gippsland line are currently experiencing a 23-day shutdown with coaches in place. While coach travel is free at the moment, it will cost money in January.
