The five men who were swept up in flood water near Bowen have been found.

Around 8am Police got the call that a ute had been washed off Tondara Road, around 15 kilometres from the Bruce Highway.

The men were able to escape but had been left stranded.

The continued heavy rain from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Penny was making the search and rescue difficult for the rescue team.

The men were located just before 2pm after a nearby farmer provided some information on their location.

Crews are looking at ways to try and rescue them.

It is believed they were pig hunting in the area last night.
