Vegetarians, your time has come – McDonald’s is trialling a veggie burger in Australia!

The McVeggie Burger is currently only available in South Australian stores, where it will be sold for a limited time.

The McVeggie crumb-coated patty is made of a mixed vegetable blend that includes 100% Australian potato, peas, corn, carrot and onion. The patty is accompanied by cheese, lettuce, herbs and spices, mayonnaise and McDonald’s iconic pickles, all on a sesame seed bun.

Jo Feeney, Marketing Director at McDonald’s Australia said in a statement, “We understand there’s a rising demand for vegetarian options and we always look to give our customers more of what they want. We’re excited to be trialling the McVeggie Burger in South Australia so our customers can give us feedback on it before we look to serve it up across the country.”

So hopefully the time will soon come where vegetarians across Australia won’t have to order a cheeseburger with no meat or put a hash brown inside a McChicken-less bun. Let’s get this burger in all McDonald’s stores!
