Police have released images of two men following an armed robbery at East Maitland early yesterday morning.

About 3:20am on Tuesday the pair entered a service station on the New England Highway.

One distracted the employee in a conversation about cigarettes while the other man stole items from the back of the shop.

When the employee refused to give the first man cigarettes because he had no money, he was threatened with a bottle.

After walking around the counter, the man pushed the servo worker, taking cigarettes.

They fled in a westerly direction and still remain at large.

The first man is described as around 30-35-years of age, about 170 cm tall, of medium build and was wearing a black cap, ‘Dallas Cowboys’ NFL shirt and camouflage pants.

He carried a brown bottle.

The second man was about 20 years old, 165 cm tall with a medium build. He wore a black cap, black long-sleeved shirt and grey track-pants.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
