Sadly a 65-year-old man has passed away from injuries sustained after he was crushed under a loader.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue was called to a private property, on the Southern Downs, a little before 11:30am on Friday morning.

It's believed the man had been doing mechanical work on a bobcat, at a Greenmount property when the loader fell from elevated stabilising tracks, landing on him.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the patient on the scene, before the aeromedical crew arrived.

LifeFlight's Critical Care doctor, along with the flight paramedic, then worked on his leg, chest and internal injuries.

He was taken by road ambulance - in a critical condition - to Toowoomba Hospital, under the care of the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue medical team and QAS paramedics.

He passed away Friday.
