A man has been arrested and charged with reckless wounding after an incident in Ashmont earlier this month, which left an 18 year old woman with a pair of scissors embedded in her skull.

Police have been told the woman asked for a pair of scissors from her partner, who allegedly threw them at her.

It happened shortly before 1.30pm on Monday December 3, the woman was treated at the scene before being taken to Wagga Base Hospital, then airlifted to Sydney.

Officers arrested the 21 year old man at the Tumut police station late yesterday, he was refused bail to front court today.

The woman appears to be in good health after her treatment, inquiries into the incident are continuing.
