M1: Mudgeeraba To Varsity Lakes Widening Works Get Underway
Drivers Told Expect Delays
Drivers may want to leave a few minutes earlier to make the morning commute up the M1 as road works get underway on some much-anticipated upgrades.
The Pacific Motorway will be widened between Mudgeeraba and Varsity Lakes, and construction started on Thursday.
The project will force a number of changes for motorists.
Over the next few weeks northbound traffic will be diverted into the southbound lanes, while the speed limit will drop down to 60km/h between exits 79 and 82.
The changes are expected to be in place for around 18 months.
