Officers made an arrest early yesterday morning outside a hotel in Temora after an argument between two men, aged 20 and 23, escalated into a physical fight. 

The older man was allegedly stabbed to his upper body during the fight, and was taken to Temora Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

The younger man was arrested at the scene and taken to Temora Police Station where he was charged with five offences: reckless grievous bodily harm, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, wield knife in a public place, affray, custody of a knife in a public place. He is set to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today. 

In a separate but related incident, a police officer has been treated at Temora Hospital after sustaining injuries to his left hand during the arrest of a 21-year-old man in Temora shortly after the alleged stabbing.

The 21-year-old man was treated for the effects of OC spray and a shoulder injury before being taken to Temora Police Station where he was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. He is due to appear in Temora Local Court on February 27th.
