In case you've missed all of the recent drama surrounding Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp, he recently lost a libel suit against British tabloid The Sun.

Unfortunately for Depp, the judge found claims that Depp was a "wife beater" to be "substantially true" and the suit was dropped, he was then was dropped from Fantastic Beasts 3, in which he played wizard and super villain Grindelwald.

It's not the end of the world for Depp, because despite being forced to resign by Warner Bros. the Actor will still be paid in full (a juicy eight figures apparently), even though he only filmed one scene.

Depp's contract supposedly outlines that even if the movie doesn't get made, he will still be paid in full.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there was also a "morality clause" in the contract which could be why Warner Bros. asked him to resign, instead of dropping him like a sack of potatoes.

THR also noted that the movie was supposed to be a "three-hander", which pretty much means that Depp's character Grindelwald, Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander and Jude Law's Dumbledore were supposed to go equal shares in screen time; regardless of this, Depp was still reportedly the highest paid Actor of the bunch.

It's not all doom and gloom for Fantastic Beast fans however, because the movie is still going ahead with a predicted release date of July 15, 2022.

We haven't caught wind of who will be replacing Depp at this point but we have a feeling they already have a plan in place given production will be going ahead and the production timeline is pretty much unaffected.

Once we find out more, we will be sure to share with all of you FB fans, so stay tuned!
