Injured man flees after blast

Police are looking for a man, spotted fleeing from a Strathallen Drive in Boronia Heights after a blast this morning.

Initial investigations revealed a car exploded around 7:30 on Tuesday morning, and witnesses told police they saw a man running from the scene towards Barry Street.

He was described as being in his 40s, Caucasian in appearance, 175cm tall with a slim build and short dark hair.

Witnesses say he was wearing dark-coloured pants and a t-shirt, and apparently had visible injuries to his face, arms and legs.

Police are concerned for the man's safety and believe he may need medical attention.
