The Hunter Valley rail network is being shutdown for the next three days for major trackwork.

1200 workers will carry out 110 maintenance jobs across the network, from the port at Kooragang out to Narrabri.

As a result, buses will be replacing trains from Maitland to Dungog and north to Scone from Tuesday morning through to Friday morning.
