Every year on April 25 Brisbane comes together to commemorate Australians and New Zealanders who have served and died at war.

Here’s how you can show your respect this Anzac day.

Queensland’s largest Dawn Service is held every year at the Shrine of Remembrance, ANZAC Square, Brisbane .

It will begin at 4.28am but it’s recommended you get there early to get a good vantage point.

The ANZAC Day Parade through the streets of the city, beginning at 10:00am. The best place to watch is along Adelaide Street.

To find your local service, check out this list of almost 500 ANZAC Day Services and Marches conducted by RSL Sub Branches in towns and cities.

The following roads will be closed from 2am to 5am for the Anzac Day Dawn Service in Anzac Square:

  • Adelaide Street, between George Street and Wharf Street
  • Ann Street, between Edward Street and Creek Street
  • Edward Street, between Ann Street and Queen Street

Vehicles parked in off-street car parking facilities within the above closure zone will not be able to exit between 2am to 3pm Thursday 25 April 2019, as closures will remain in place for the Anzac Day Parade.

The following roads will be closed from 4am to 3pm for the Anzac Day Parade:

  • Adelaide Street, between George Street and Wharf Street
  • Albert Street, between Adelaide Street and Charlotte Street
  • Burnett Lane, between George Street and Albert Street (accessed from Adelaide Street)
  • Charlotte Street, between George Street and Creek Street
  • Creek Street, between Ann Street and Elizabeth Street
  • Eagle Lane, between Queen Street and Creek Street
  • Edward Street, between Ann Street and Mary Street
  • Elizabeth Street off ramps from Riverside Expressway
  • Elizabeth Street, between William Street and Creek Street
  • George Street, between Margaret Street and Adelaide Street
  • Market Street, between Charlotte Street and Mary Street
  • Queen Street, between North Quay and Wharf Street
  • William Street, between North Quay and Stephens Lane
  • no access to George Street from Mary Street
  • Victoria Bridge inbound will be closed, outbound traffic via North Quay will be maintained.
