A recent study has shown that 42% of young men don’t consider hitting, punching or restraining another person to be a type of domestic violence.

Additionally, 44% don't believe non-consensual sexual activity is within the confines of what constitutes domestic violence.

White Ribbon's Executive Director Brad Chilcott joined Nick, Jess & Ducko to speak about White Ribbon Day this Friday 20 November.

The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement of men and boys working to end male violence against women and girls, founded in London in 1991.

"White Ribbon Day is your opportunity to bring people together – in person or online - to raise awareness and commit to action to prevent men’s violence against women. In workplaces, schools and communities all over Australia, we’re asking you to stand up, speak out and act to end gendered violence."

Brad discussed some of the common roots of these issues and how we can all help to reduce these shocking statistics.

"In particular, we're asking people to commit to ongoing action in their community. We're inviting people to start community action groups; like-minded, local people coming together to develop community responses to ending mens violence against women."
