They say never smile at a crocodile- but how often do you actually see one?

This weekend there's been numerous sightings, with one even caught on camera.

North of Townsville a whopping 3 meter croc was reportedly enjoying the flood waters at the wash-away in Halifax in the early hours of Sunday.

The community east of Ingham saw 681mm fall in just 24 hours, causing flash flooding to roads.

Also last night, police were driving on the Bruce Highway near Tully when they suddenly met a big lizard taking up the entire lane.

See the video below and never approach a crocodile that you spot, instead report the sighting on 1300 130 372.
