Heatley's Long Tan Pool Set To Be Out Of Action For Almost 7 Weeks
It's maintenance time!
Townsville City Council advises residents that Long Tan Pool in Heatley will be closed for maintenance as Townsville City Council crews and local contractors work to complete necessary repairs from 15 December until 31 January.
The works will replace pipework, filters and pumps in both pools and new shade will be installed over the 50m pool.
Long Tan Pool is primarily used for learn to swim schools, squad training and water sport groups – who take a break over Christmas – making this the quietest period at the pool to complete the upgrades with minimal disruption.
Council urges residents to use Kokoda, Riverway, Tobruk and Northern Beaches Leisure Centre pools if they wish to swim recreationally in the meantime.
Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience.
