However, it turns out that all the nagging we had to endure was actually, in a way, good for us!

According to a study from the University of Essex, England, the more pushy a mother is, the more successful her kids will be!

The study followed the lives of 15,500 girls from 2004-2010, who were 13-14 at the start of the study, and determined that girls with mothers who set higher standards for them as they grew up were:

  • More likely to earn higher incomes
  • More likely to go to university
  • Less likely to fall pregnant in their teen years

Of course, everyone’s definition of success is different and so long as your kid grows up to be a kind, compassionate and empathetic human being, that’s what matters!

Looks like some of you might feel a little more grateful for your mum’s nagging!
