Adelaide Metro trains have been disrupted this morning after a pedestrian was struck by a train.

The incident happened at Elizabeth, with services between Gawler and Salisbury suspended.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Elizabeth Railway Station after a person was struck on the tracks and died at 6.45am.

No one else was injured and it is understood that the driver is being treated for shock.

Some replacement buses are running.

Major Crash investigators and Public Transport Safety Brach officers are also at the scene, with traffic also restricted.
