Four people have been arrested in relation to dozens of marble attacks across Newcastle and Lake Macquaire.

Police pulled over a Holden Commodore in Scott Street, Newcastle East last Friday before allegedly discovering hundreds of marbles and slingshots inside.

Three men aged in their late 20s to early 30s and a 16-year-old were taken into custody.

A range of items including marbles, three slingshots, credit cards and the car itself were seized.

It's claimed a marble was shot through a business window in Charlestown earlier that night that struck a person in the arm, before another restaurant window was smashed in Wharf Road, Newcastle.

Forensic teams are looking at evidence from dozens of vandal attacks involving marbles over the past two weeks before considering charges.
