Four people have been arrested after a slow police pursuit across Toowoomba yesterday.

The arrests come after police spotted an allegedly stolen white Range Rover about 11:50am in Newtown, following it for several hours.

Police say the driver managed to avoid tyre spikes set up across the city including at the top of The Range before one site at Stenner Street successfully deflated the tyres.

The car has then allegedly driven into a paddock at Top Camp south of Harristown where the Police Helicopter spotted the car, which was found well alight.

Fire investigators reported that the heat from the tyre rims on the grass may have caused the blaze.

PolAir and the Dog Squad tracked down the offender with all three people who were inside the car spending the night behind bars.

A 15-year-old from Withcott was set to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today on ‘one unlawful use of a vehicle’ charge, while a 22-year-old faced court on 12 charges this morning.

Police are still waiting to charge two others teenagers aged 15 and 17 allegedly involved.
