Fishing In A Life Jacket Is About To Become Compulsory On The Central Coast
Incl Snapper Point and Avoca Beach
Wearing life-jackets is about to become mandatory for rock fishers on the Central Coast.
At last night's meeting Council narrowly decided to opt-in to the state government's rock fishing safety act.
Mayor Jane Smith says this means all rock platforms exposed to ocean swell on the Coast will be considered 'high-risk fishing locations', including Snapper Point and Avoca Beach.
