This is the second time Phillips has won the title, receiving it at the inaugural event in 2017.

Already tipped as the frontrunner, Phillips took it out with 19 out of a possible 21 points. Further to this, she was acknowledged as the 2019 All-Australian Captain earlier in the evening.

This week has been bitter sweet for the athlete after she damaged her ACL while playing in the AFLW Grand Final. Her team, the Adelaide Crows, took out the game by 45 points.

On the day, Phllips was also named Best On Ground despite her devastating injury.

Earlier, Carlton's Tayla Harris was awarded for Mark of the Year and her team mate Madison Prespakis was named the 2019 Rising Star.
