Dedicated traffic campaign gets results
A dedicated traffic campaign on the Limestone Coast has targeted drink and drug drivers in our region.
Members of the traffic enforcement branch carried out a drink and drug driving campaign between the 3rd and 6th of December, testing 224 drivers across the South East.
None returned positive results.
Just over 130 drivers were tested for drugs, 16 motorists reportedly testing positive to illicit substances.
Another 75 drivers issued with on the spot fines for various breaches of road rules.
Over the period, police also defected 119 motor vehicles; with one driver reported for driving while disqualified.
Locals who see drivers flouting the road rule are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
