Deadset Legend Who Housed Cyclone Debbie Victims Wins $90k Cash Cow Jackpot!

After opening his home to those who were evicted from theirs due to Cyclone Debbie, John Wade won Sunrise's Cash Cow Jackpot! 

Early on Tuesday morning, John rushed to his ringing home phone with high hopes that it would finally be the very important phone call he had been longing for, for four years!

And it was! 

The retired school teacher, from northern New South Wales, was definitely a worthy winner of this $90k jackpot, after he shared his home with the flood victims of Cyclone Debbie. 

Speaking to Sunrise about his win, he said, "It's still very hard to believe actually, but it's fantastic."

When talking about the Cyclone, he opened up about his family's struggles and how they've been affected, "My brother and sister-in-law are down at Tindarra which really copped it a lot... 

"And my sister-in-law's mother actually lost the house - it will really need to almost be rebuilt."

Due to their amazing win, John's wife, Colleen, is now able to join him in retirement!
