If you love cocktails and canines, then you’ll love this!
Locals have the chance to sip on some fancy drinks while in the company of some furry friends at Canberra’s first ever Canines, Cocktails & Catch-Ups event this week.
While it’s not a bring-your-own pup event, there will be some rescue dogs and ambassador pooches at Treehouse to hang out with!
Around 10 or so rescue greyhounds will roam around the bar on Thursday October 25, offering a chance for dog lovers to meet and mingle.
“Through Dating with Dogs, we found a lot of singles were looking for friends as well because they were either from outside of Canberra or they wanted to extend their social group,” founder of The Social Dog Company, Tatum Brown, said.
“So with this event, it’s a good way of mingling with like-minded people, expanding that social circle, as well as fundraising for a good cause which is rescue dogs.”
A portion of ticket sales will go to charity Greyhound Connections, while the rest go back into The Social Dog Company, so they can keep running events like this to help dog rescue groups.
Tatum said while it’s a great way to make new friends, it could also help you meet that special someone!
“Dogs are a really good bonding point for humans. We also consider them as family. They’re really good social engagement ice-breaker material.”
Ticket sales have been so popular, another event’s been added for November 8!
