A number of fires continue to wreak havoc across the region. Hundreds of firefighters have spent the weekend working around the clock in a bid to prevent further loss of land.

On Friday afternoon a fire south of June Street, Glen Forbes in the Grantville Conservation Nature Reserve led to the issuing of an Emergency Warning for Adams Estate, Almurta, Glen Forbes and Grantville. Emergency Warnings were also issued for Tanjil South, and communities in and around Walhalla across the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Thompson Jordan Divide Road blaze continues to keep firefighters busy, as the total size of the inferno now surpasses 6,100 hectares.
