The good ol’ Bunnings sausage sizzle has to be one of the best and most Aussie things about the weekend, right?

We head on over for a snag, snuggled in some bread and topped with sauce and onions, and our day seems perfect.

But now that Bunnings have changed the rules for how they’re making their sausage sizzle (or sausage sandwiches, if that tickles your fancy), well, people aren’t happy…

The Herald Sun reported that Bunnings corporate has changed policy, which means onions will be put onto the bread first, before the sausage, as it reduces the risk of onions falling off and creating a slip hazard.

Bunnings chief operating officer, Debbie Poole, said in a statement:

“This recommendation is provided to the community groups within their fundraising sausage sizzle welcome pack and is on display within the gazebos when barbecues are underway.

“Regardless of how you like your onion and snag, we are confident this new serving suggestion will not impact the delicious taste or great feeling you get when supporting your local community group.”

Why does Debbie have to be the downer and ruin our snag experience…
