Britney Spears Fans Are Protesting After Fearing The Star Is Being Held Against Her Will

After checking into a mental health facility earlier this month, fans of Britney Spears have taken to the streets after fearing the singer is being held against her will. 

It was previously reported that Spears had checked herself in to help deal with stress she’s had over her father’s illness. Now, her most dedicated fans fear otherwise after allegations were made in the ‘Britney’s Gram’ podcast’s “special emergency episode.”

Fans believe that her management are holding Spears against her will in the facility while she is still under a conservatorship that has spanned over 10 years.

After the podcast went live, the hashtag #FreeBritney went viral worldwide.

One of the fans behind the podcast, Barbara Gray told Entertainment Tonight that the movement is about ending Spears’s conservatorship, which she has tried to end on many occasions.

Spears left the facility over the weekend to get her hair done at a Los Angeles salon and to spend time with her boyfriend Sam Asghari.
