The Tokyo Olympics are still going ahead despite Japan entering their third state of emergency since the start of the pandemic.

More than six-thousand daily cases continue to be recorded with the emergency measures in place until May 31

But that isn't stopping our Aussie Olympians who are determined to compete at the Tokyo Olympics.

Australian Olympic Committee's Strath Gordon insists "the athletes are determined to compete"

"Our job is to make sure they can do that and do it safely" he said.

After the 2020 games were postponed due to the global outbreak of Covid-19 there are still concerns that the world's biggest sporting event won't go ahead.
